MEASURING STEERING CABLES
The method of measuring craft for steering cables is common for all systems in our catalogue.
NEW INSTALLATION
Measure (A) centre line of wheel to gunwale, plus (B) dash to transom, plus (C) gunwale to centreline of transom.
Cable length = A + B + C minus 6" (152 mm) for splashwell and transom mounting.
Cable length = A + B + C plus 6" (152mm) for tilt tube or hinge-pin installations.
STEERING CABLE REPLACEMENT
If you are ordering a replacement for an existing cable, please advise cable colour and type of cable at transom, and the length of the old outer cable. Add 18" (457mm) and round up to nearest foot (1/4 m)
RACK STEERING CABLE REPLACEMENT
Measure cable as above, but add 30" (762 mm) instead of 18" (457mm) and round up to the nearest foot (1/4 m)
